About Clean and Clear Advantage

Clean & Clear Advantage can be found in any local grocery store or pharmacy like Rite Aid or Walgreens. They call it the powerful 3 step regimen that will keep your skin looking beautiful and acne free. And supposedly, 100% of users had clear skin in as little as one day.

Clean & Clear Advantage uses a 3 party system including a cleanser, and a moisturizer. In addition, they offer a spot treatment for random zits that may pop up at the most inconvenient times. They say that by using ingredients like 10% benzoyl peroxide, Clean & Clear Advantage seeps into the pores, finally eliminating even the toughest cases of acne. What makes Clean & Clear Advantage superior?

Why Does Clean & Clear Advantage Use a Kit?

Clean & Clear Advantage follows a trend, first started by products like Murad and Proactiv. These products came to the conclusion that other products didn’t work because they weren’t comprehensive enough! For example, a cleanser may eliminate bacteria and fight acne in many other ways. But it may also leave the skin dried out, which is why you need a moisturizer. And while a spot treatment could provide instant gratification, it is not equipped for daily use, nor does it spread over the entire face or body. A kit brings all of these pieces together in one.

How To Use Clean & Clear Advantage

They suggest that you rinse your face with warm water before gently massaging the cleanser into the skin and washing it away again with warm water. And then, once you have gently patted the skin dry, you can apply a thin layer of their moisturizer. The spot treatment can be used as needed for problem zits.

Does Clean & Clear Advantage Work?

Clean & Clear Advantage has active ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. And they have a record 10% concentration of benzoyl peroxide, which is certainly capable of eliminating bacteria and therefore clearing problem acne. Salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid, helps to shed away dead skin cells that clog pores, causing acne breakouts.

But You Pay a Price For These Results

While they use a powerful and clinically proven 10% concentration of benzoyl peroxide, we find that this could be considered to be too much. 5% is the optimal concentration of benzoyl peroxide. It can still cause some side effects. But lesser concentrations are not powerful enough to demonstrate significant acne fighting results. The difference between 5% and 10% is that 10% side effects are unnecessarily severe. 10% is more likely to do more damage than good.

Clean & Clear Advantage has quite a few other irritants such as titanium dioxide, which is an industrial grade chemical. This chemical has been known to cause redness, irritation, sensitivity to the sun, and dermatitis. But it has never been clinically proven to have any positive effect on the skin or acne.

Is Clean and Clear Advantage Worth It?

Clean & Clear Advantage uses a higher and clinically proven concentration of important active ingredients that can make a significant difference in the fight against acne. They are one of the few products to use a 10% concentration of benzoyl peroxide.

But while Clean & Clear Advantage can provide certain acne fighting results, we find that it is too close to a medical grade chemical peel. In other words, we find it to be too potentially damaging for everyday use. And as hardy as some skin types may be, we have yet to see a skin type that can truly handle this kind of abuse.
