Coming from the line of Oprah’s featured Dr Perricone, Perricone MD Skincare is based around the top 10 superfoods, and it relies on an “introductory collection.” It utilizes a cleanser, toner, spot treatment, and moisturizer, and while individual pieces sell for $30-$55, the whole kit can be found at $50. Some major ingredients include green tea, salicylic acid, benzyl peroxide, and aloe vera.
These ingredients can be useful. But salicylic acid and benzyl peroxide can also be found in just about any product. We expected something better from the Perricone name. Benzyl peroxide may also easily irritate skin. The fact that the whole kit can be bought for $50, about the same price as the individual products, tells us that they are grossly overpriced, even in the kit in most cases. It is like just about any cheap product, except it’s not cheap.
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Perricone MD Skincare, despite the fact that we initially thought we would. It does not live up to the associated name, but rather abuses it, and they use common, yet often ineffective ingredients that only cause side effects. These products are extremely overpriced, and your money would be severely wasted.
